Our Vision

Scope of the Responsible AI Certification Program

Certifies AI Systems, not individuals

Our goal is to assess AI systems (both the technology components, as well as the governance). This is not a certification program for developers or data scientists.

Builds on existing frameworks and regulations

We are not trying to re-inventing the wheel. A lot of great work has already been done to provide industry specific and generic guidelines. Our goal is to provide a practical and unified framework that translates across these disparate guidelines

Assessments specific to the type of AI system

The specific assessment criteria will be customized based on the type of AI system being assessed (e.g., Intelligent process automation,
Image & Object recognition, Text & Speech Analysis, Advanced data analytics, NLP & content creation)

Assessments specific to domain and region

In addition to general system assessment criteria, in order to have meaningful substance, the assessment criteria will have extensions to cover specific application domains (e.g., credit & collections, healthcare diagnostics, etc.), and to cover region specific regulations.

How will the certification process work?

Once the certification program and assessments are created, we will work with accreditation bodies to formally accredit the certification program and mark. Certification partners will become accredited to perform the assessments. Creators of AI systems can work directly with accredited certification partners to have their systems assessed and certified.

The certification assessment will assess AI systems across 5 categories of Responsible AI:

Who is currently involved in creating the certification program?

The working group is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of industry experts, policymakers, regulators, consumers, and academia, aimed at creating a measurable way to assess the responsible development and deployment of an AI system

How to get involved:

There are a number of ways for individuals or organizations to get involved in the creation of the certification program. For more information, please email us at certification@ai-global.org, or sign up to become a member of AI Global.

You can also join our mailing list to stay informed on the progress.

If you are interested in getting involved in this initiative, please take this short survey. It will be open until January 8, 2021
